Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 September 2026
1. The parties and acceptance
These terms are between OwnFeed and the person or organization accepting them. “OwnFeed,” “we” and “us” refer to the OwnFeed service; “you” refers to the customer. If you act for an organization or client, you must have authority to bind it and administer the connected account and website.
The service is intended for authorized professional Instagram-account website publishing. You must be able to enter into these terms and must not use the service where it is prohibited by applicable law.
The Privacy Policy describes information handling; acknowledging it is not consent to unrelated marketing or processing. OwnFeed records the accepted terms and privacy-notice versions, document hashes, acceptance time and customer identity, and archives the exact documents.
2. The service
OwnFeed connects to an Instagram Business or Creator account through Meta's authorization process, periodically retrieves a bounded set of recent posts, caches source images or thumbnails and optimized images, and supplies a JSON feed for your website. You can configure feeds, limit browser origins, hide or restore posts, refresh within your plan's limits, rotate feed keys and manage account security.
The available plan settings, limits and prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Refresh schedules are targets, subject to capacity, account eligibility, provider limits and failures. Videos and Reels use thumbnails; carousel display uses a cover image.
Site Sync, display layouts and public/account status are available when enabled and appropriately configured. Availability remains subject to current platform rules and release verification.
Site Sync and displays. Free includes three saved displays and one site destination; Pro includes twelve saved displays and three destinations. Six layouts share the same underlying feed. Site Sync requires installation of the supported receiver in hosting you control; it is not a universal connector for arbitrary websites. By explicitly pairing a selected destination, you authorize scheduled delivery and removal of the selected feed within the connector-owned area, and confirm your authority over the destination and content. Protect the scoped key and hosting, and carry out removal when an unreachable receiver or expired key prevents automated confirmation. The connector does not install future software updates automatically.
A completed delivery provides locally stored JSON, optimized images, rendered HTML, styles and optional interaction code. A visitor can receive the saved page without an OwnFeed request; integrating that saved HTML into an existing site requires a supported server-rendered placement. A hosted iframe remains a separate OwnFeed-dependent option. Source refresh and site delivery have separate schedules and can add delay. No ranking improvement, fixed speed increase, perpetual retention right or exact publication time is promised. Current Meta storage and redistribution conditions must be verified before live Site Sync activation.
3. Account and security responsibilities
Provide accurate account and billing information and keep your email address current. Safeguard passwords, recovery codes and account access, and use the permissions provided. Only an authorized owner should manage billing or request deletion of an organization. You remain responsible for actions you authorize; these terms do not make you automatically liable for events caused by our breach of duty.
OwnFeed does not ask for your Instagram password. Authorize and reconnect through Meta. Protect your own website, any integration code and systems that retrieve your feed. Public feed keys are public access links and are unsuitable for protecting confidential information. Browser-origin restrictions do not authenticate server-side consumers.
Some changes require reauthentication. Optional authenticator-based two-factor authentication uses recovery codes; there is no automatic email-only bypass if both the authenticator and recovery codes are lost. Do not send credentials through a contact form.
4. Instagram authorization and third-party services
Connect only accounts you are entitled to administer and use content only as allowed by applicable law, rights holders and the relevant platform terms. Meta can change APIs, permissions, account eligibility, access rules or availability. Additional authorization, reconnection, review or feature changes may be necessary. OwnFeed is an independent service and is not represented as endorsed or certified by Meta or Instagram.
Using an official API is not, by itself, approval for unlimited caching, redistribution or indefinite retention after authorization ends. We may restrict affected processing where access is no longer permitted. Your authorization cannot override restrictions imposed by law or Meta.
Cloudflare supplies the configured infrastructure, Stripe supplies hosted payment/subscription tools, and Resend supplies configured email delivery. Their services may be subject to their own terms and availability. We remain responsible for obligations applicable to our own service and cannot avoid those obligations simply by using a vendor.
5. Your content and permission to operate the feed
You retain your rights in content you provide or authorize us to retrieve; other rights holders retain theirs. To the extent of your authority, you instruct and permit us to retrieve, store, copy, resize, format, transmit and display that content only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested feed, maintain it, protect the service and carry out the disclosed deletion and retention process. We may use the service providers described in the Privacy Policy for these purposes. This permission does not authorize us to use your content in advertising or train AI models.
You must have the copyright, image/publicity, privacy and other permissions needed for the intended use. A publicly visible Instagram post is not proof of permission to republish it elsewhere. This matters for photographs of people, children, customer testimonials, before-and-after images, music and other third-party material. You are responsible for ensuring the selected content and its context on your website are lawful and accurate. Do not supply confidential health records or private case information.
Permission to deliver content ends when it is no longer authorized or needed for the requested service, subject only to lawful, limited retention. The existence of a cached file does not create a permanent licence. Content-removal rights and applicable platform obligations take precedence over ordinary stale-feed behavior. Our own software, branding and documentation remain subject to their applicable ownership and licence terms.
6. Public output and copies
A live feed is designed to be displayed on a public website. Anyone able to access its output or media may save a copy. A website operator is responsible for its own display choices, notices and rights in the content it republishes, including where it independently caches feed data or images today.
Disabling a feed or rotating its key prevents new valid requests through the affected feed address; it does not erase previously fetched JSON, downloaded files, website backups, search results or third-party caches. OwnFeed checks current publication restrictions before serving separately cached media. Previously downloaded or independently cached files may persist. Hiding a post changes feed selection and does not necessarily erase its media.
If content must be removed or corrected, take appropriate steps on systems you control, including website/CDN caches and copies supplied to your contractors, and cooperate with lawful requests. OwnFeed must also address information and copies under its control and take required steps with its service providers. Neither party may rely on caching as a reason to ignore applicable duties. The implemented Cloudflare receiver can acknowledge removal of its connector-controlled stored copy. It cannot erase unrelated website content, customer backups or independent copies, and removal is not confirmed while the receiver is unreachable or its credential is unavailable.
7. Acceptable use
Use OwnFeed within the limits of the selected plan and the permissions you hold. You must not:
- connect another person's account or website without authority, impersonate someone, or submit false ownership information;
- publish unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive or privacy-invasive content;
- bypass authentication, tenant separation, rate limits, storage limits, vendor restrictions or disabled/revoked access;
- introduce malicious code, interfere with the service, harvest credentials, or use it to conduct surveillance or compile unauthorized personal profiles;
- use public feeds as private data storage or as a substitute for a protected health-record system;
- redistribute platform-derived data for an incompatible purpose or grant rights you do not possess.
Responsible security reports may be submitted through the privacy request form. A reporting invitation does not authorize accessing another customer's private data, interrupting service or testing external vendors without their permission.
8. Free and paid plans
Free does not require a payment card. Pro is listed at US$6 monthly or US$60 yearly. The available price, billing interval, taxes and any promotion will be shown before checkout.
If paid checkout creates a recurring Stripe subscription, checkout will clearly state the renewal interval, charge and cancellation method before you authorize payment.
Checkout will state the total charge, billing frequency, applicable taxes and other mandatory amounts before payment. Stripe hosting does not itself determine tax calculation, collection or remittance.
Usage estimates are operational estimates. OwnFeed enforces plan limits rather than imposing a per-request overage tariff. Additional charges require clear advance disclosure and authorization. Any later price or material plan change will have the notice and consent required by applicable law, with a practical opportunity to cancel before the changed charge takes effect.
9. Cancellation, refunds and billing problems
The organization owner can open the Stripe customer portal from Billing after it is configured. Cancellation options and timing are shown in the portal or at checkout.
Refunds, prorations and cancellation rights are handled as required by applicable law and as stated at checkout. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights.
Disconnecting Instagram, hiding a post, disabling a feed, logging out or ceasing website traffic does not cancel a subscription. Account deletion separately queues subscription cancellation; provider failure can delay it. If a cancellation or billing error occurs, use the billing portal or the contact method available in the service so the charge and subscription can be investigated.
Payment failure or a subscription status that is no longer active can remove paid entitlements after reconciliation. Under the current rules, a downgrade may reduce usable accounts, feeds, posts, origins, image sizes, history and features without immediately deleting stored authorizations. Do not depend on continued Pro access while a payment is unresolved. No late-payment penalty is specified by this draft.
10. Availability, freshness and support
OwnFeed does not promise real-time updates, uninterrupted service or an exact synchronization time. Normal updates depend on its scheduler, Meta, storage, image processing and service capacity. A failed, partial or malformed retrieval preserves the last successful snapshot. A successful complete empty result can publish an empty feed. Removal from Instagram is detected through a later successful complete synchronization, not instant notification in this release.
The default stale-feed policy can continue serving old content and exposes its age; a deployment may instead return an unavailable response after a configured period. Monitor what your website displays and provide an appropriate fallback. The service is not a guaranteed archive or backup. Maintaining a copy does not permit retaining content after your legal authority to use it ends.
There is no contractual uptime percentage, guaranteed support response time or automatic service-credit formula. These limitations do not exclude mandatory legal warranties, our duty to provide the service as agreed, or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
11. Suspension, ending service and deletion
We may proportionately restrict affected access for a security threat, unlawful use, material terms violation, payment issue, revoked permission or legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we should explain the reason and provide a way to resolve it; urgent protection may require action first. The final operating procedure must support this notice and review process. Suspension is not a blanket right to retain payment for services that must legally be refunded.
You may request account deletion through the authenticated flow described in the Privacy Policy. It disables solely owned organizations' feeds and synchronization, clears stored Instagram tokens, and starts cancellation/removal processing. Shared ownership must first be resolved. Data purge is scheduled after a 30-day grace period but may take longer if required steps fail; no automatic restoration option is promised. Vendor and independent copies have separate handling.
At termination, stop using service credentials and permissions that are no longer authorized. Narrow obligations concerning accrued lawful charges, content rights, lawful record retention and dispute resolution may continue as appropriate. Do not interpret termination or these terms as a licence to perpetually retain or republish platform content.
12. Responsibility, liability and mandatory rights
Each party is responsible for complying with applicable duties and for its own acts and omissions. You are responsible for your authorized content, integration and website operation; we are responsible for performing our agreed service and handling information in accordance with applicable duties. Third-party dependencies and the limits described above are relevant to the service's operation but do not waive statutory rights.
No monetary cap, broad indemnity, exclusion for OwnFeed's own negligence, mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver is adopted by these terms. Nothing here prohibits a lawful complaint, honest review or report to a regulator.
13. Governing law, disputes and notices
Mandatory protections and competent regulators may apply regardless of a contractual law or venue choice. Contacting OwnFeed does not shorten statutory limitation periods or remove access to courts or regulators.
14. Changes and interpretation
Material changes require suitable advance notice and any legally required consent. A change must not retroactively remove accrued rights or validate previously unauthorized processing. Proposed services need appropriate additional terms and notice before they are activated.
These terms, clearly disclosed order details and any expressly agreed written addendum identify their order of precedence. If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remainder applies only to the extent permitted by law.
